Cathedral in the capital city of Kirkwall

Hello from Scotland!  Here is an inside photo of the magnificent Cathedral in the capital city of Kirkwall. You can almost hear the wonderful echo of the organ music within these interesting walls.

Next we are off to see Scapa Flow, where the German fleet was scuttled after WWI. Then, if you are thirsty, on to two distilleries- Highland Park and Scapa Distillery. Tours and tastings of these

Island whiskies await us. For a taste of history (ancient, that is) a visit to the Neolithic settlement known as Skara Brae is next and then to nearby Ring of Brodgar. Much larger and more eerie than Stonehenge.

At night we board our ‘cruise ship-type ferry’ for a good nights sleep and we will wake up back on the mainland in the morning.
